3 Memorabilia 1. [Salvi, Lorenzo.], Kriehuber, Josef: Original lithographed portrait of Lorenzo Salvi by Kriehuber. Signed by Salvi Wien, [c1844], Pietro Mechetti. 470x330 mm Soiled, some foxing. 120,- Lorenzo Salvi ( ), Italian tenor. He studied in Naples, making his début in 1830 at S Carlo as Cam in the first performance of Donizetti s Diluvio universale. At the Teatro Valle, Rome, he created Fernando in Il furioso all isola di San Domingo (1833) and at the Teatro Nuovo, Naples, he sang in the first performance of Betly (1836). At Genoa he sang Gennaro (Lucrezia Borgia), Edgardo and Rossini s Otello. He made his début at La Scala in Federico Ricci s Un duello sotto Richelieu, created the title role of Donizetti s Gianni di Parigi, Riccardo in Verdi s Oberto (1839) and Edoardo in Verdi s Un giorno di regno (1840). At the Teatro Apollo, Rome, he created Olivero in Donizetti s Adelia (1841). He was a member of the Italian Opera in St Petersburg from 1845, and from 1847 to 1849 he sang at Covent Garden, as Edgardo, Nemorino, Almaviva, Don Ramiro, Lindoro (L italiana in Algeri), Ernani, Pollione, Masaniello (Auber s La muette de Portici) and Robert le diable.
