4 AIRSOFT: THE BRAND MAKES THE DIFFERENCE AIRSOFT: DIE MARKE MACHT DEN UNTERSCHIED Wikipedia defines it this way: Airsoft is a sport or recreational activity in which participants eliminate opponents by hitting each other with spherical non-metallic pellets launched via replica firearms called Airsoft guns. It originated in Japan in the mid-1970 s as a toy alternative to real guns because of the restrictive gun laws, which forbid private gun ownership. Soon the new game was exported to other Asian nations with similar gun laws, then to the USA. And later to Europe, where airsoft became popular in the early 1990s. The 6 mm plastic or biodegradable BBs used in airsoft have conquered the world. Apart from airsoft players there are many customers who collect these authentic guns because of technical or historical interests. The high-quality airsoft guns by Umarex come with the official license of the original manufacturers and of course the real markings and that matters. Wikipedia definiert es so: Airsoft ist ein Sport oder eine Freizeitaktivität, bei der die Teilnehmer ihre Gegner durch Treffer ausscheiden lassen. Bei dieser aus Asien nach Europa importierten Freizeitbeschäftigung wird mit Airsoft-Modellen, den modernen Nachfahren der früheren Erbsenpistolen, geschossen. Die zuerst Mitte der 70er Jahre in Japan entwickelten Gewehre und Pistolen zählen dort wegen ihrer geringen Energie nicht als Waffen, sondern nur als Spielzeuge. Sie verschießen 6 mm dicke Plastikkugeln, sogenannte BBs, heute meist in umweltfreundlicher Bio-Qualität. Der Funke sprang zunächst auf andere Länder mit ähnlich strengen Waffengesetzen über, später in die USA und dann nach Europa.

6 LAND WARRIOR AIRSOFT LAND WARRIOR AIRSOFT Land Warrior Airsoft is the store that Scott Allen operates near Edinburgh in Scotland. On weekends, Scott and his friends drive to nearby private land with truly ideal conditions for practice tests, but mostly for long airsoft matches. Forest alternates with dense vegetation and moorland, and in between some decommissioned armored cars, Land Rovers and even an airplane wreck serve as natural cover. Filming and taking pictures in this area and with this bunch of airsoft players was really fun, even if the Umarex team sometimes was short of breath... ( Landwarrior Airsoft heißt das Ladengeschäft, das Scott Allen nahe Edinburgh in Schottland betreibt. Am Wochen ende fahren Scott und seine Freunde zu einem nahegele genen Privatgrundstück mit wahrhaft idealen Voraus setzungen für Praxistests, vor allem aber für abwechslungsreiche, ausgedehnte Airsoft-Matches. Wald, dichter Bewuchs und Heidelandschaft wechseln sich ab, dazwischen warten ausgemusterte Panzerspähwagen, einige Land Rover und sogar ein Flugzeugwrack als natürliche Deckung. Bei den Film- und Foto aufnahmen ging es hoch her, der Spaßfaktor spielte nicht nur in den Pausen eine wichtige Rolle auch wenn das Umarex-Team hier zunächst erst wieder durchatmen musste ( Scott Allen
