3 Işık Üniversitesi History The history of (Feyziye Schools Foundation Işık Schools) Feyziye Mektepleri Vakfi Isik Okullari began on 14 December 1885 in the city of Thessaloniki, one of the most dynamic cities in the days of the Ottoman Empire, with the establishment of Feyz-i Sıbyan School. The school has gone through enormous expansion, including Şemsi Efendi School the school where Mustafa Kemal Atatürk received his initial education. Following the Balkan War when Thessaloniki became part of Greece, Feyziye School moved its operations to Istanbul and continued its pursuit in educational excellence in Nişantaşı Naciye Sultan Mansion. level education.

4 In 1935 during the 50th anniversary of the School, the name was changed from "Feyziye" to "Işık" (which means "light" in Turkish) with the blessings of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. In 1986, the Foundation completed its Maslak campus, in order to meet the need for educational institutions. Finally, in the beginning of the academic year, Işık University was launched in the Maslak Campus, starting a new page in the history of the Foundation. Feyziye Schools Foundation has served the Turkish Educational System for 125 years, from preschool to graduate level education.

5 Campuses Işık University operates in two campuses. The Maslak campus is located in one of the business centers of Istanbul. The Şile campus, located 50 km (31 mi) out of Istanbul, opened its doors in The Şile campus has been planned as a complete educational campus with dormitories, social facilities, and educational and administrative buildings situated in an area of 600 acres (2.4 km²).

10 DTW, Deutsch-Türkische Wirtschaftsvereinigung ist ein eingetragener Verein, Dessen Zweck die Förderung der wirtschaftlichen Beziehungen zwischen Deutschland und der Türkei und den 5 zentralasiatischen Staaten ist. DTW hat 110 juristische und natürliche Personen als Mitglieder. DTW ist 2003 auf Initiative der türkischen Botschaft gegründet worden. Sie hat ihren Sitz in München DTW unterstützt das Projekt der Isik Üniversitesi Işık Technology Center for Systemic Mobility and Renewable Energy

12 Inhaltlich wird das zentrale Thema Systemic Mobility und Renewable Energy sein. Systemic Mobility ist weit umfassender als z.b. das Thema E-Mobility: Systemic Mobility betrachtet das Thema Mobilität gesamthaft und optimiert nicht nur Teilbereiche wie e-mobility, sondern sucht fallbezogen nach einer optimalen Auslegung und Verzahnung von individuellen und öffentlichen Mobilitätskonzepten zur Vermeidung von Stau und Emissionen.

13 Dadurch wird Systemic Mobility zum nächsten großen Innovationsthema für Forschungseinrichtungen und Mobilitätsunternehmen. Gerade Istanbul als Megacity mit großen Mobilitätsproblemen ist ein idealer Standort für Forschung, Entwicklung und Produktion von Sytemic Mobility- Inhalten.

14 Dadurch hätte ein solches Technology Center eine einzigartige Stellung als akademisch-unternehmerischer Cluster und besitzt beste Voraussetzungen für eine führende Rolle als Impulsgeber für Mobilitätskonzepte speziell in den künftigen Megacities.

15 Als weiterer wichtiger Aspekt im Sinne einer ganzheitlichen Betrachtung wird der Aspekt der erneuerbaren Energien miteinbezogen: Dadurch schließt sich der Kreislauf zwischen Energieerzeugung und Energieverwendung im Sinne von Mobilität.

16 In der Paarung Systemic Mobility und Renewable Energy werden neben innovativen Themen wie carsharing, PRT (Private Rapid Transport), Windenergy, Solartechnologien, Smart grid, Speichertechnologien und E-Mobility auch die klassischen Bereiche Architektur, Städteplanung, BWL und VWL- Wissenschaften implementiert.
