1 Service Information / -STi- Rev 2.0 Device: Module/Subassembly: Re: MP 3000 HV; PA 3000 HV; PDP 3000 HV Firmware Firmware Update Einleitung Die Hauptprozessor- und Streaming-Client Firmware des MP 3000 HV lässt sich bequem über eine Internetverbindung oder per USB- Speicherstick updaten. Ein Update der Firmware des PA 3000 HV und des PDP 3000 HV kann ausschließlich über einen angeschlossenen MP 3000 HV erfolgen. Hierzu müssen die beiden (drei beim PDP Update) Geräte über das H-Link Kabel verbunden sein. Introduction The main processor and streaming client processor firmware of the MP 3000 HV can be updated easily by using an internet connection or an USB-Memory-Stick. The firmware of the PA 3000 HV and the PDP 3000 HV can only be updated in conjunction with a connected MP 3000 HV. For this purpose the two (three for PDP update) devices must be connected with the H-Link cable. Die Durchführung des Updatevorgangs ist im Folgenden detailliert beschrieben. : HINWEIS Einige Benutzereinstellungen gehen u.u. bei einem Update verloren. Ein Stromausfall beim Updateprozess kann zu einem vollständigen Funktionsverlust des Gerätes führen. Das Update geschieht auf eigene Gefahr. The update procedure is described on the following pages. : NOTICE Some user settings can be lost when performing a firmware upgrade. An interruption of the mains power supply can result in a total loss of function of the device. The update is done at your own risk. 4 2. Hardwarevoraussetzung 2. Hardware requirement a) Beim Update der Software per USB Stick USB Speicher Stick mit mehr als 20 MB freiem Speicher (FAT 32 formatiert). Vorbereitung des USB Sticks Bitte laden Sie sich von der T+A Homepage ( das aktuellste Softwarepaket für den MP 3000 HV und ggf. auch für den PA 3000 HV und PDP 3000 HV herunter. Entpacken Sie anschließend die komprimierte(n) ZIP-Datei(en) und kopieren Sie den gesamten Inhalt direkt auf Ihren USB Stick. (Bitte nicht in einen Unterordner legen!) : HINWEIS Für den Fall, dass mehrere Geräte upgedatet werden, können Sie die Updatedateien zusammen auf einen USB-Stick kopieren. a) For updating the firmware via an USB memory stick USB memory stick with more than 20 MByte free memory space (FAT 32 formatted). Preparation of the USB memory stick Please get the newest T+A update package for the MP 3000 HV and if necessary also for the PA 3000 HV and the PDP 3000 HV from the T+A homepage ( decompress the ZIP-file(s) and copy the whole contents to your USB stick (please don't use subdirectories!) : NOTICE In the case that several devices must be updated, the update files of all the devices can be saved together on the USB memory stick. b) Beim Update der Software über die Internetverbindung des MP 3000 HV Ein funktionierendes Netzwerk mit Router und ein Zugang zu einem Breitband-Internet- Anschluss muss vorhanden und betriebsbereit sein. : HINWEIS Das Update kann wahlweise über eine LANoder WLAN-Verbindung erfolgen. Detaillierte Informationen zur Einrichtung des Internetzugangs finden Sie in der Bedienungsanleitung des MP 3000 HV. b) For updating the firmware using the MP 3000 HV`s Internet connection A properly set up home network with router and a DSL access to the internet must be installed and in operation. : NOTICE The update can be carried out using a LAN or a WLAN connection. The network settings are described in detail in the Chapter Installation / Using the system for the first time, Network configuration of the MP 3000 HV`s user manual.

5 3. Updatemenü aufrufen 3. Entering the update menu a) Beim Update des MP 3000 HV ohne angeschlossene HV Geräte. Schalten Sie das Gerät aus und warten Sie ca. 10 Sekunden. Schalten Sie es wieder ein und drücken Sie anschließend die? Taste auf der Gerätefront solange (ca. 5 Sekunden), bis im Gerätedisplay das "Software Update Menü" erscheint. a) Updating the MP 3000 HV without a connected HV series device. Switch the device OFF and wait about 10 seconds. Switch it ON again with the ' button on the front panel. Immediately after power ON, press the? button on the front panel and keep it pressed (about 5 seconds) until the Software Update Menu" appears on the display. b) Beim Update des MP 3000 HV oder des PA 3000 HV bzw. PDP 3000 HV im Systemverbund über H-Link angeschlossen. b) Updating the MP 3000 HV or the PA 3000 HV respectively the PDP 3000 HV connected in the system network via H-Link. Schalten Sie das Gerät aus und warten Sie ca. 10 Sekunden. Schalten Sie den MP 3000 HV wieder ein und drücken Sie anschließend die? Taste auf der Gerätefront solange, bis im Gerätedisplay das "Geräte Auswahl Menü" erscheint (der PA 3000 HV und der PDP 3000 HV schalten automatisch mit ein). Wählen Sie durch Drehen des Select - Knopfes am MP 3000 HV das Gerät aus, das upgedatet werden soll, und bestätigen Sie die Auswahl durch Druck auf den Knopf. Es erscheint das Software Update Menü des ausgewählten Gerätes auf dem Display des MP 3000 HV. Switch the device OFF and wait about 10 seconds. Switch the MP 3000 HV on again with the ' button on the front panel. Immediately after power ON, press the? button on the front panel and keep it pressed (about 5 seconds) until the Device Selection Menu" appears on the display. (The PA 3000 HV and the PDP 3000 HV switches itself on automatically) Choose the device that should be updated by rotating the right rotary knob of the MP 3000 HV. Confirm the selection by pressing knob (Ok function). The Software Update Menu of the choosen device appears on the MP 3000 HV`s display.

6 4. Update der Software über die Internetverbindung 4. Updating the Software using the internet connection Rufen Sie das Updatemenü wie beschrieben auf. Gehen Sie mit den Select - Drehknopf zur Zeile UPDATE und drücken Sie OK. Der Fokus springt nun nach rechts. Wählen Sie nun die Einstellung web und bestätigen Sie mit OK. Die Anzeige start WEB Upd sollte nun erscheinen. Drücken Sie erneut OK daraufhin sollte die Meldung start WEB Upd hell hinterlegt erscheinen. Call up the update menu as described. Use the right rotary knob to navigate to the line UPDATE and press OK. The focus will now jump to the right side of the display. Now choose web and press OK. The display should now show start WEB Upd. Please press again OK, the message start WEB Upd will now be highlighted. Now start the update process by pressing OK again. Starten Sie nun den Updatevorgang mit nochmaligem Druck auf OK. The update process can take up to 10 min and will be displayed on the front display. Der aktuelle Fortschritt des Updatevorgang wird permanent im Display angezeigt. (Dauer insgesamt bis zu 10 min!). Warten Sie bis das Update vom Gerät vollständig durchgeführt wurde und die Meldung 'Update finished' im Display erscheint. Anschließend schaltet sich das Gerät selbstständig aus. Wait until the update procedure is carried out completely and the message 'Update finished' is displayed on the integral screen. After the process is done successfully the device switches itself off automatically. The update process is now complete. Das Update ist vollständig abgeschlossen. A C H T U N G: Sollte ein Fehler bei dem Programmiervorgang auftreten, trennen Sie das Gerät für 30 Sekunden vom Netz. Soweit die Firmware noch vollständig im Gerät vorhanden ist, startet das Gerät neu. Gehen Sie dann bitte erneut wie beschrieben vor. Sollte die Firmware schon ganz oder teilweise gelöscht worden sein, startet das Gerät nach einer Trennung vom Netz automatisch im USB Update Modus. In diesem Fall muss die Wiederherstellung der Firmware mit Hilfe eines USB Speichersticks erfolgen, das USB Update ist im Kapitel Update der Software per USB Stick. A T T E N T I O N: If an programming error occurs please disconnect the device for 30 seconds from mains power supply. If the firmware has not been erased by the update process the device will start again. Please repeat the update process. If the firmware has been erased completely. The device restarts in USB update mode after disconnecting it from mains power supply and connecting it again. In this case a system recovery must been carried out with the help of an USB Stick. Detailed information on USB update and recovery you can find in the chapter Updating the Software using a USB memory stick.

7 5. Update der Software per USB Speicher Stick 5. Updating the Software using a USB memory stick Stecken Sie den vorbereiteten USB Stick in die USB 2 Buchse an der Frontseite des MP 3000 HV. Rufen Sie das Updatemenü wie beschrieben auf. Gehen Sie mit den Select-Drehknopf zur Zeile UPDATE und drücken Sie OK. Der Fokus springt nun nach rechts. Wählen Sie nun die Einstellung USB und bestätigen Sie mit OK. Die Anzeige start USB Upd sollte nun erscheinen. Drücken Sie erneut OK daraufhin sollte die Meldung start USB Upd hell hinterlegt erscheinen. Starten Sie nun den Updatevorgang mit nochmaligem Druck auf OK. Der aktuelle Fortschritt des Updatevorgang wird permanent im Display angezeigt. (Dauer insgesamt bis zu 10 min!). Warten Sie bis das Update vom Gerät vollständig durchgeführt wurde und die Meldung 'Update finished' im Display erscheint. Anschließend schaltet sich das Gerät selbstständig aus. Das Update ist vollständig abgeschlossen. Insert the prepared USB memory stick into the USB 2 connector on the front panel of the MP 3000 HV. Call up the update menu as described. Use the right rotary knob to navigate to the line UPDATE and press OK. The focus will now jump to the right side of the display. Now choose USB and press OK. The display now should show start USB Upd. Please press again OK, the message start USB Upd will now be highlighted. Now start the update process by pressing OK again. The update process can take up to 10 min and will be displayed on the front display. Wait until the update procedure is carried out completely and the message 'Update finished' is displayed on the integral screen. After the process is done successfully the device switches itself off automatically. The update process is now complete. A T T E N T I O N: Please never switch off the device while programming is in progress!!! A C H T U N G: Schalten Sie das Gerät bitte keinesfalls während der Programmierung aus!!!
