2 Grußwort / Welcome Eine bezahlbare und sichere Energieversorgung ist eine wesentliche Basis für die Leistungsfähigkeit und Wettbewerbsfähigkeit der europäischen Wirtschaft. Dies muss die Energiewirtschaft auch zukünftig gewährleisten. Das erfordert verlässliche Rahmenbedingungen und ein abgestimmtes politisches Handeln auf nationaler und europäischer Ebene. Die Energiekonferenz soll den internationalen Erfahrungsaustausch über die Lösungsansätze für eine zukunftsfähige Energiewirtschaft unterstützen. Dazu lade ich Sie herzlich ein. An affordable and safe energy supply is an important basis for the productivity and competitiveness of the European economy. The energy industry has to guarantee that also in the future. Reliable conditions and coordinated political actions on a national and European level are necessary. The Energy Conference supports the international exchange of experiences in creating solutions for a future sustainable energy industry. Please feel invited to this event. Sven Morlok Sächsischer Staatsminister für Wirtschaft, Arbeit und Verkehr / Saxon State Minister for Economic Affairs, Labour and Transport EINFÜHRUNG / INTRODUCTION Die Energiewirtschaft in Europa steht vor einem gewaltigen Umbruch, der die zukünftige internationale Wettbewerbsfähigkeit europäischer Regionen stark beeinflussen wird. In den vergangenen Jahren haben sich dabei in den europäischen Staaten unterschiedliche Markt- und Fördermodelle für Investitionen in Energieerzeugungsanlagen und Energieinfrastrukturen entwickelt. Die europäische Kommission ist nun bestrebt, diese Rahmenbedingungen anzupassen, um eine Vollendung des Energiebinnenmarktes zu erreichen. Die Internationale Energiekonferenz stellt die unterschiedlichen Strategien und Konzepte gegenüber und diskutiert mit Vertretern der europäischen Nachbarstaaten die Frage, wie eine zukunftsfähige, Energiewirtschaft in Europa gestaltet werden kann. Dabei werden insbesondere die Fragen der Marktintegration erneuerbarer Energieträger und der Akzeptanz von Infrastruktur- und Energieprojekten in der Bevölkerung thematisiert. The energy industry in Europe is in store for a tremendous change that will influence the future competitiveness of the European regions. Over the last years the European countries developed various market and promotion schemes conditions for investments in energy production and other energy infrastructure. The European Commission is eager to adjust those conditions to complete the Single European Market. The International Energy Conference presents and confronts the various concepts and strategies in Europe. Based on this comparison the representatives of Germany and the European neighbor countries will discuss how a common European energy policy could be structured. The discussion will focus in particular on the topics of the integration of renewable energy sources and acceptance for new energy infrastructure projects.
