Concerns: Folic Histosols and lithic Leptosols are particularly vulnerable to large scale disturbances (low resilience) and may loose essential functions (nutrient supply, water storage capacity) Depending on - Scale and intensity of disturbance - Regeneration status of vegetation - Treatment (removal of biomass)

How long will it take to restore the protective functions (flood prevention...)? What is the response of different tree species to climatic extremes (e.g. drought) and what are the consequences for future tree species performance?
