3 Informationen zu SNB-Statistiken Juni 008 Die Banken in der Schweiz 007 In der Publikation Die Banken in der Schweiz 007 veröffentlicht die Schweizerische Nationalbank umfangreiche Statistiken über den Bankensektor in der Schweiz. Die Angaben basieren auf eigenen Umfragen bei allen Banken in der Schweiz. In die Statistiken fliessen Zahlen der Bilanzen, der Erfolgsrechnungen und weitere Angaben am Jahresende ein. Die elektronische Version der diesjährigen Ausgabe ist seit dem 9. Juni 008 unter Publikationen, Die Banken in der Schweiz verfügbar. Die gedruckte Ausgabe ist ab Ende Juni 008 erhältlich. Anlagefondsstatistik (Tabellen D6ff.) Das Bundesgesetz über die kollektiven Kapitalanlagen (Kollektivanlagengesetz, KAG) trat am. Januar 007 in Kraft und löste das Bundesgesetz über die Anlagefonds vom 8. März 994 ab. Das KAG reguliert neben den bisherigen vertraglichen Anlagefonds auch neue Rechtsformen für Kollektivanlagen. Zu den Neuerungen gehören die Investmentgesellschaften mit variablem Kapital (SICAV) und die Kommanditgesellschaften für kollektive Kapitalanlagen (KGK). Weiter werden durch das KAG auch die Investmentgesellschaften mit festem Kapital (SICAF) reguliert, sofern sie allen Anlegern offen stehen und nicht an der Börse kotiert sind. Diese gesetzliche Änderung erforderte Anpassungen in den Tabellen D6 bis D63. Die Tabellen umfassen neu alle Rechtsformen für kollektive Kapitalanlagen; diese werden in den Tabellen in offene und geschlossene Kollektivanlagen unterteilt. Die offenen Kollektivanlagen umfassen die vertraglichen Anlagefonds wie auch die SICAVs, während die geschlossenen Kollektivanlagen die KGKs und die SICAFs enthalten. Aufgrund der geringen Anzahl geschlossener Kollektivanlagen können aus Vertraulichkeitsgründen zur Zeit noch keine Daten für diese Kategorie veröffentlicht werden. Ebenfalls aufgrund der neuen Gesetzgebung wurde die Bilanzgliederung in Tabelle D63 überarbeitet. Zudem werden in Tabelle D6 erstmals Daten zum Anlegerkreis publiziert. Ansonsten wurde die Struktur der Tabellen beibehalten. Die Erhebung der zum Vertrieb in der Schweiz zugelassenen ausländischen Anlagefonds wurde per 3. März 008 eingestellt. Entsprechend umfassen die Daten nur die schweizerischen, durch das KAG regulierten kollektiven Kapitalanlagen. SR 95.3 Statistisches Monatsheft Juni 008 / Monthly Statistical Bulletin June 008 III

4 Information on SNB statistics June 008 Banks in Switzerland, 007 edition In the 007 edition of Banks in Switzerland, the Swiss National Bank publishes comprehensive statistics on the Swiss banking sector. The data are based on the surveys the SNB conducted with all banks in Switzerland. The statistics incorporate figures from the balance sheets and the profit and loss accounts in addition to other year-end data. The electronic version of this year s edition has been available online since 9 June 008 at under Publications, Banks in Switzerland. The printed version will be published at the end of June 008. Investment fund statistics (tables D6 et seq.) The Federal Act on Collective Capital Investments (CCIA) entered into force on January 007, superseding the Federal Act on Investment Funds of 8 March 994. In addition to the contractually-based investment funds that have existed to date, the CCIA also regulates new legal forms for collective investment schemes. The innovations include investment companies with variable capital (SICAVs) and limited partnerships for collective capital investments. In addition, the CCIA also regulates investment companies with fixed capital (SICAFs), provided they are accessible to all investors and are not listed on the stock exchange. This change in the law has necessitated adjustments to tables D6 to D63. These tables now cover all legal forms for collective investment schemes, and are divided up into open and closed collective investments. Open collective investments include contractually-based investment funds as well as SICAVs, while closed collective investments comprise limited partnerships for collective capital investments and SICAFs. The small number of closed collective investment types means that no data can be published at this time for reasons of confidentiality. Likewise, the new legislation has necessitated adjustments to the breakdown of the balance sheet in table D63. Furthermore, details pertaining to investors are published for the first ever time in table D6. Otherwise, the breakdown of the tables remains the same. The collection of data regarding foreign investment funds which can be distributed in Switzerland was discontinued on 3 March 008. Accordingly, relevant data now only covers Swiss collective investment schemes regulated under the terms of the CCIA. The Monthly Statistical Bulletin on the internet The tables published in the Monthly Statistical Bulletin are also available on the internet at Publications, Monthly Statistical Bulletin, and are updated on a monthly basis. Moreover, some tables that are not included in the printed version of the Monthly Statistical Bulletin due to lack of space are published on the internet. The tables in question can be identified by the letters appended to the table numbers (e.g. Fa, Fb and Fc as an extension of table F).
