Wivel, Copenhagen Short Biographical Note Alex Reichwein is Assistant Professor of International Relations and PostDoc Researcher at the Department of Political Science at the Justus-Liebig-University-Giessen. He is also a speaker of the IR Section Norms and Change in World Politics at the Giessen Graduate Centre for Social Sciences, Business, Economics and Law (GGS). And he is Guest Lecturer at the Department of Political Science at the University of Copenhagen. Alex is doing research on the Responsibility to Protect (in particular authoritarian states, norms, and the R2P), on the Intellectual History of the Discipline International Relations (in particular the European 20 th Century theoretical traditions in IR), and on realist approaches in IR and Foreign Policy Analysis. He is co-editor and co-author of a 9 Volumes Book Series Trends in European IR Theory (published with Palgrave Macmillan, ), and he publishes on IR traditions, Realism, the R2P, and European Integration with Palgrave, Oxford UP, Manchester UP, or Springer. Alex organizes workshops, panels and roundtables and presents paper at the Annual Conferences of the International Studies Association (ISA), British International Studies Association (BISA), European International Studies Association (EISA), World International Studies Committee (WISC), or Deutsche Vereinigung für Politikwissenschaft (DVPW). Alex holds a PhD in IR from the Goethe University Frankfurt with a thesis on Hans J. Morgenthau as an émigré scholar and liberal realist.
