2 Meta-analysis of chemotherapy trials Basic Problems Many trials compare polychemotherapy cocktails which are not directly informative on individual drugs. Large heterogeneity of regimens. Conventional meta-analyses need an underlying common question and can thus only integrate a small fraction of all trials. 5 Two flaws in the concept of dose intensity as a measure of chemotherapy strength 1. Dose intensity does not increase with the number of cycles. -> take total dose into the account 2.
