Anwendungsgebiet - Fachinformation als krankheitsmodifizierende Monotherapie von hochaktiver RRMS - Patienten mit hoher Krankheitsaktivität trotz Behandlung mit einem Beta Interferon. Dabei kann es sich um Patienten handeln, die nicht auf eine Beta-Interferon-Therapie (mind. 12 Monate) angesprochen haben. - mind. 1 Schub im vorangegangenen Jahr und - mindestens 9 T2-hyperintense Läsionen im kranialen MRT oder mindestens eine Gadolinium anreichernde Läsion. Ein Patient, der nicht auf die Therapie anspricht ( Non-Responder ), lässt sich ebenso als ein Patient mit einer im Vergleich zum Vorjahr unveränderten oder vermehrten Schubrate oder anhaltend schweren Schüben definieren oder - Patienten mit rasch fortschreitenden schweren schubförmig-remittierend verlaufenden Multiplen Sklerose: -2 mit Behinderungsprogression in einem Jahr und - 1Gadolinium anreichernden Läsionen im MRT des Gehirns oder eine signifikante Erhöhung der T2-Läsionen 7
