1 CUSTOMER INFORMATION EEX Launch of OTC registration service for the UK NBP Market Dear trading participants, We would like to inform you about a key addition to the EEX natural gas market. EEX will launch OTC registration services for the UK NBP Market in the first quarter of Overview The (EEX) is expanding its product range by offering OTC registration services for the UK NBP market. In cooperation with its clearing house European Commodity Clearing AG (ECC), EEX provides a competitive model for OTC clearing with many benefits for trading participants: Competitive fee structure Integration of NBP Futures in ECC Cross-Margining methodology: Significant margin offsets against all other ECC-cleared derivatives contracts are possible. Nomination services offered by ECC: Reduction of administrative work for middle and back office departments since ECC performs nomination towards National Grid on behalf of the participants. Product List The products initially available for OTC registration are as follows: Product Code G9BM G9BQ G9BS Name NBP Natural Gas Month Futures NBP Natural Gas Quarter Futures NBP Natural Gas Season Futures Subject to market demand, NBP weeks and calendar year contracts will be made available after go-live. 2 General Information 1. Product mapping The contracts will be listed by your broker(s) in the same way they list other standard OTC contracts. You will receive a new product file from your broker(s) prior to launch, and will need to map the new contracts into your traders chosen front-end. 2. Automated trade flow Once a deal is matched by the broker, the trade flow for you will be seamless. It is intended that a full straight through processing ( STP ) offering will be in place, whereby a popup window in the trader s front-end will inform you about the registration details. 3. Physical Settlement ECC will take responsibility for physical delivery of NBP contracts by acting as a User Agent in the delivery process. ECC AG will fulfil physical delivery by nominating both its own delivery position and on behalf of the trading participant into National Grid s Gemini / UK Link systems, thus reducing administrative burden for EEX members. Physical delivery positions will be nominated one ECC business day before delivery at approximately 10:00 CET (Friday for Saturday, Sunday and Monday and so on). 4. Financial Settlement Variation Margin and final settlement payments will be made in GBP on all GBP settlement days. Please refer for further information regarding physical and financial settlement to ECC Clearing Information No. 46/2011 which is available at 5. Settlement Prices End of day prices will be compiled by LEBA (London Energy Brokers Association) from a snapshot of contributing broker prices taken during a 15 minute trade window from 17:00 CET. Settlement price data will be made available on the data area of the EEX web site. The EEX Chief Trader procedure will be used on occasions when LEBA is unable to provide end of day price in a contract maturity. 6. 3 To be able to trade this product your organization will need to: 1) Complete ECC forms: a) TP19 Appointment of User Agent b) TP19a/b/c- Application for Approval as a Trading Participant in NBP Natural Gas Futures 2) Complete EEX forms: a) Complete E03 form to register a Back Office User ID to confirm the trade registration within STP. b) Once your broker(s) has sent you the product mappings for the EEX NBP product, you will need to upload and/or map the products to your traders chosen front end. This will be done in the same way as you would add any typical new broker instrument. All forms are attached to this Customer-Information. Please fill in and return them with legally binding signatures to either EEX and/ or ECC admission department. Additionally we would like to ask you to inform your clearing bank (GCM) of your intention to trade this product. 4 KUNDENINFORMATION EEX führt OTC Registrierungsservice für den UK NBP Markt ein Sehr geehrte Handelsteilnehmer, wir möchten Sie über eine wichtige Ergänzung des EEX Gas Terminmarktes informieren. Die EEX plant im ersten Quartal 2012 den OTC Registrierungsservice für den UK NBP Markt einzuführen. Überblick Die (EEX) erweitert ihr Gasproduktportfolio um die OTC Registrierung von UK NBP Kontrakten. Dadurch bieten wir unseren Handelsteilnehmern viele Vorzüge, darunter: Reduzierte Gebühren gegenüber de am Markt angebotenen Alternativen Einbindung der UK NBP Futures in die ECC Cross Margining Methodologie Bedeutende Margin Verrechnungen gegenüber anderen von ECC geclearten Produkten sind möglich. Nominierungsservice angeboten von der ECC ECC nominiert im Auftrag des Kunden an das National Grid, was den administrativen Aufwand für Ihr Back Office verringert. Produktliste Zunächst werden folgende Produkte zur OTC Registrierung angeboten: Product Code G9BM G9BQ G9BS Name NBP Natural Gas Month Futures NBP Natural Gas Quarter Futures NBP Natural Gas Season Futures Je nach Marktbedarf werden zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt auch die NBP Wochen sowie Jahreskontrakte für die OTC Registrierung verfügbar sein. 5 Allgemeine Informationen 1. Produktmapping Die Kontrakte werden von Ihrem Broker analog anderer OTC-Standardkontrakte gelistet. Vor der Einführung erhalten Sie von Ihrem Broker ein neues Produkt File. Zu Beginn ist es notwendig, die neuen Kontrakte in das ausgewählte Frontend aufzunehmen. 2. Automatisierter Registrierungsprozess Wenn die Orders von einem Broker ausgeführt werden, wird die Traderegistrierung für die Handelsteilnehmer problemlos sein. Die Handhabung des Trades wird einem Straight-Trough-Prozess ( STP ) unterliegen. Handelsteilnehmer müssen nach der automatischen Registrierung von Geschäften diese lediglich in ihrem Front End bestätigen. 3. Physische Abwicklung Die ECC übernimmt die Verantwortung für die physische Lieferung der NBP Kontrakte, indem sie im Lieferprozess als User Agent auftritt. Die ECC erfüllt die physische Lieferung, indem sie sowohl die eigene Position als auch die des Handelsteilnehmers in das National Grid System nominiert, somit reduziert sich der Aufwand für EEX Kunden. Positionen für die physische Erfüllung werden ein ECC Geschäftstag vor der Lieferung um ca. 10:00 Uhr MEZ (Freitag für Samstag, Sonntag und Montag etc.) nominiert. 4. Finanzielle Abwicklung Die Abrechnung der Variation Margin erfolgt in GBP. Für weitere Information lesen Sie bitte die ECC Kundenmitteilung No. 46/2011 verfügbar auf 5. Abrechnungspreise Abrechnungspreise werden unter Berücksichtigung von LEBA (London Energy Brokers Association) bereitgestellten Preisinformationen der Brokermärkte festgestellt. Das von LEBA angewendete Zeitfenster zur Ermittlung der Preisinformationen beinhaltet Preise von 17:00 Uhr bis 17:15 Uhr MEZ. Die von der EEX berechneten Abrechnungspreise werden im Datenbereich der EEX Webseite veröffentlicht. Sollte LEBA keine Preisinformation für eine Fälligkeit liefern können, wird an dieser Stelle das EEX Chefhändlerverfahren Anwendung finden. 6. Simulationsphase: p/therm p/therm Die NBP-Natural-Gas-Futures sind bereits in der EUREX-Simulationsumgebung aufgesetzt. Die EEX wird voraussichtlich zu Beginn des ersten Quartals 2012 gemeinsam mit der ECC eine Simulationsphase für die Registrierung und das Clearing der NBP- Natural-Gas-Futures anbieten. 6 Um das neue Produkt handeln zu können, müssen folgende Voraussetzungen erfüllt werden: 1) Notwendige ECC Formulare: a) TP 19 Appointment of User Agent. b) TP 19 a/b/c (Antrag auf Anerkennung als Handelsteilnehmer für NBP Erdgas Futures). 2) Notwendige EEX Formulare: a) Füllen Sie das Formular E03 aus, um eine User ID (BO) zu erhalten, mit der die Trade Registrierung im Straight-Through-Prozess bestätigt werden kann. b) Nachdem Ihnen ihr Broker die Produkt Mapping Datei zur Verfügung gestellt hat, müssen die Produkte in Ihrem Frondend gemappt werden. Alle Dokumente finden Sie im Anhang dieser Kundenmitteilung. Bitte füllen Sie diese aus und senden Sie mit der Unterschrift der Unterzeichnungsberechtigter Person der EEX und ECC Zulassungsstelle zu. Sollten Sie Unterstützung bei diesem Prozess brauchen, steht Ihnen EEX Customer Relations unter gerne zur Verfügung. Bitte beachten Sie: Der OTC Registrierungsservice der EEX NBP Gas Futures ist ein Teil Ihrer EEX Mitgliedschaft, sodass für zugelassene Handelsteilnehmer keine zusätzlichen Kosten entstehen. Die Bestätigung der OTC Registrierung wird mittels der beantragten User ID (BO) vorgenommen. Eine EEX Händlerprüfung ist keine Voraussetzung.
