Juli 2006 findet in Deutschland die Fußball-Weltmeisterschaft statt. Wir informieren Sie zum Thema. A B C Spielorte Die FIFA-Organisationskommission hat jetzt die Spielorte bekannt gegeben: Insgesamt sind es 12 verschiedene Städte in der ganzen Bundesrepublik. Das Eröffnungsspiel findet in der neuen Münchener Allianz-Arena statt. Das Endspiel wird am 9. Juli 2006 im Berliner Olympiastadion angepfiffen. Die zwei Halbfinalspiele sind im Dortmunder Westfalenstadion (4. Juli 2006) und in München (5. Juli 2006). Das Spiel um Platz drei geht nach Stuttgart (Gottlieb-Daimler-Stadion, 8. Juli). Die meisten Spiele finden in Nordrhein-Westfalen statt: 16 der 64 Partien gibt es in Gelsenkirchen, Köln und Dortmund. In jedem der zwölf Spielorte sind vier Vorrundenspiele. Keine Mannschaft spielt in der Vorrunde zweimal im selben Stadion. Neue Fußball-Tempel Das Olympiastadion wird zur Zeit noch umgebaut. Auch in anderen Stadien finden noch Bauarbeiten statt, um die Kapazität zu erweitern. Das Nürnberger Frankenstadion wird für über 56 Millionen Euro vergrößert und modernisiert. Es bietet dann Zuschauern Sitzplätze. Ebenso erweitert man zur Zeit noch das Fritz- Walter-Stadion in Kaiserslautern. Erst im November 2005 sind die Arbeiten dort beendet. Dagegen war die Hamburger AOL-Arena als eines der ersten WM-Stadien fertig. Auch die Frankfurter freuen sich: Das Waldstadion mit seiner eleganten Dachkonstruktion ist schon zur neuen Saison fertig geworden und hat jetzt Platz für Zuschauer. Ebenso in Sachsen und in Niedersachsen: Der viertklassige FC Sachsen Leipzig spielt schon im nagelneuen Leipziger Zentralstadion und die Hannoveraner gehen bereits zu Heimspielen in ihre große neue AWD-Arena. Eintrittskarten Der Kartenvorverkauf für die WM beginnt am 1. Februar 2005 und läuft weltweit über CONTINUED

Die Eintrittskarten für die Vorrundenspiele kosten zwischen 35 und 100 Euro, nur das Eröffnungsmatch kostet mehr ( Euro). Danach steigen die Preise kontinuierlich an bis zum Endspiel ( Euro). Insgesamt gibt es für die 64 Spiele 3,2 Millionen Tickets. Wir wissen heute schon, dass wir zu wenig Karten haben und diese in kürzester Zeit weg sind, meint Franz Beckenbauer, der Präsident des deutschen WM-Organisationskomitees. 6 GERMAN SYLLABUS A LANG0G01 Page 5 Document B Reich gedeckter Tisch Studieren in Deutschland Essen in der Mensa A B C D E F Restaurants für Studierende heißen Mensen. Das ist die Mehrzahl des lateinischen Wortes Mensa. Es bedeutet Tisch auf Deutsch. Hier kann man gut und preisgünstig essen so wie in der Neuen Mensa in Dresden. Großküche In der Neuen Mensa an der Bergstraße in Dresden sind 55 Mitarbeiter und Mitarbeiterinnen beschäftigt. Hier kochen sie täglich 4000 bis 4500 Essen und geben sie an die Studenten aus; hinzu kommen noch 3500 bis 4000 Imbiss-Portionen in der Cafeteria der Universität. In den Lagerräumen hinter der Küche liegen Waren im Wert von Es sind vorwiegend Grundnahrungsmittel wie Nudeln oder Reis, aber auch Konserven aus dem In- und Ausland. Frischware wie Obst oder Gemüse kommt meistens aus der Region. Etwa 70 Prozent der Mensa-Gäste wählen die preisgünstigen Essen 1 oder 2. Im Sommersemester 2005 kostet eine warme Mahlzeit immer unter 1,44, eine kostet über 1,92 und zwei liegen preislich dazwischen. Die Mensa-Gäste bezahlen mit einem Chip, den sie an so genannten Emeal Automaten immer wieder neu aufladen können. Das Konzept kommt aus England. Emeal bedeutet so viel wie elektronisches Essen. Zufriedene Gäste Beliebtestes Essen ist Steak mit Pommes Frites davon können die Studenten in Dresden (wie auch in vielen anderen Studienorten) gar nicht genug bekommen. Ebenfalls sehr beliebt in Sachsen: Eintöpfe. Lammfleisch ist weniger gefragt. Aber bei ausländischen Studierenden ist das populär. Darum steht das von Zeit zu Zeit auf dem Speiseplan, sagt Chefkoch Jörg Naumann. Manche essen kein Schweinefleisch, andere mögen lieber vegetarische Kost. Kein Problem, denn die Auswahl ist immer groß genug: Alle finden, was sie mögen, auch bei den Getränken und bei den Nachtischen. Die muss man dann aber extra bezahlen. In den entsprechenden Regalen stehen viele verschiedene Getränke, Apfelkompott, Pfirsiche in Sirup, Pudding, Vanille-Crème und Beeren. Die Mensa möchte, dass alle Studenten etwas Leckeres auf dem Speiseplan finden können und dass das Essen gleichzeitig auch gesund ist. Was niemand wirklich essen will, sagt Mensa-Leiterin Rosmarie Zumpe, kochen wir auch nicht. Kein Wunder, dass ihre Mensa-Gäste zufrieden sind! Nach TIPP, 1/2003 CONTINUED
